Jennings Jewels: Daddy’s Little Painter

*
”No, no, no Mackenzie! Don’t do that!”
Henry Jennings rushed to the family room where his daughter, 4-year-old Mackenzie used one of the white walls as a coloring book, colorful crayon lines and smiley faces everywhere.
”We painted in here last week…” Henry sighed.
Mackenzie nodded and smiled.
”Now it’s pretty. White walls are boring.”
Henry shook his head no and scooped Mackenzie up from the floor.
”Drawing with crayons on walls is a big no-no.”
”Okey dokey.” Mackenzie smiled.

Henry looked around, scanned the room.
”Honey… where is your brother?”
Mackenzie shrugged.
”I don’t know…”
Then Henry saw the open window in the kitchen.
”Oh no, I forgot to close the window! Justin probably snuck out to the fire escape again…”
”Yeah, fire ’scape.” Mackenzie agreed.

Henry rushed out to get Justin, Mackenzie’s twin brother.
Little Justin wasn’t happy when Henry carried him inside, but he cheered up when Daddy promised him ice cream.

Back inside, Henry let out a big sigh. Mackenzie was drawing on the wall again - but this time she was holding a red felt-tip pen - a permanent marker.
”Mackenzie! Nooo!”
The little curly-head girl grinned.
”You said no crayons Daddy.”
